Dakota’s Story

Around my twentieth birthday, I realized something had to change.
I was heading down a path that didn’t have any good endings, and I needed to take action. In a moment of radical honesty, I admitted that what I’d been trying wasn’t working. For the first time, I was willing to humble myself and try something different. I desperately wanted to turn my life around.

So I dove in. Motivational speakers, mindset coaching, philosophy, psychology, mindfulness, meditation, and even some more unconventional approaches. I poured years into learning these skills, and at the same time, I was coaching others, which gave me a unique lens: I could see patterns, recognize growth opportunities, and teach what I was actively learning.

Rock climbing was a powerful vehicle for self-discovery for both my clients and me. But over time, I realized something deeper: anything can be a vehicle for growth, if we choose to see it that way.

Our hobbies. Our work. Our relationships. Even our most ordinary moments. All of it can be used to reflect, practice, and grow into who we want to become.

I believe the most powerful tool for this transformation is simple: honest introspection. It can be uncomfortable. It can be confronting. But growth always comes with some discomfort, and that includes our inner growth.

At the core of everything I do is the belief that:
All change begins within.

What we think and how we feel about ourselves tends to mirror the reality we experience. If we want a better life, we first have to understand what’s happening within us.

That’s what Through Insight is about.

Insight allows us to see what’s working, what isn’t, and what needs to change. The emotions we often avoid are not problems; they’re signs. They show us where our attention is needed. With insight, we can begin to decipher those emotions, start to understand who we really are (and who we aren’t), and grow into a version of ourselves that is actually aligned with our inner world.

Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
No good can come from avoiding ourselves.

“Feeling lost isn’t the problem—it’s the absence of insight into who we are.”
